General Information

Due to the fluctuations of the exchange rate, orders with value very close to the tax-free limit may be assessed Duties and Taxes (D&T) as the currency exchange rate may vary from the order date to the customs clearance date.

Please check with your customs office to see if you can import the items, and if any additional licenses or permits are needed.

Customs Information

Effective January 1st 2020, the Norwegian government will remove the 350NOK Value Added Tax (VAT) and duty exemption for food items. All orders containing consumable products may be subject to VAT, duties, and other customs clearance fees. The customer is responsible for paying the taxes, duties, and any clearance fees.

Examples of food items are foods, sweets, soft drinks, supplements, and anything else that can be consumed by humans. VAT rate ranges from 15% to 25% on most iHerb products. Custom duties and special taxes vary depending on the product. For example, supplements are subject to VAT at the rate of 15% and customs duties of 31.71 NOK/kg. There may also be additional special taxes. Examples of products subject to special taxes are chocolates and soft drinks.

Shipping

All iHerb orders are shipped out from our US warehouses to your country by Air Freight. 

The Estimated Delivery window provided by iHerb reflects most standard deliveries. However, some orders may occasionally be subject to longer transit time caused by air freight delay, Customs hold, or any other unforeseen complications outside of iHerb’s control.

iHerb is registered for Norway's VAT On E-Commerce (VOEC). For products valued at 3,000 NOK or less, excluding food and excise-duty products, iHerb collects, reports, and remits the VOEC directly to Norwegian tax authorities. For all other products, iHerb collects duties and taxes at checkout (Delivered Duties Paid). No additional payments are needed at the time of delivery.
