What is valerian root?
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a perennial plant with dark green leaves and small white, light pink and purple flowers, native to Europe and parts of Asia. Its roots—dried, ground and consumed in tea or supplement form—have been used in traditional herbal practices to support calmness and restful sleep.
What are the key benefits of Vitacost® Valerian Root?
As a dietary supplement for occasional sleeplessness, take 3 capsules 30-60 minutes before bedtime or as directed by a healthcare professional. Capsules may be opened and prepared as tea.
May cause drowsiness. Do not take this product while operating machinery or driving a vehicle. Pregnant or lactating women, diabetics, hypoglycemics, people under medical supervision and people with known medical conditions and/or taking drugs (including alcohol, tranquilizers and sedatives) should consult with a licensed physician and/or pharmacist prior to taking this product. Keep out of reach of children.
Sealed with an outer shrink wrap film and an inner seal. Do not use if either seal is broken or missing. Keep dry and at room temperature (59º-86ºF [15º-30℃]).
